Thailand fully open February 1st, ready for Year of the Tiger

Happy new year (again), this time within the lunar calendar. And in that tradition it is the Year of the Tiger, beginning February 1st. This is good news. Let 2022 now move ahead with the power and stealth of a tiger.

In similar good news, Thailand fully reopens its quarantine-free travel process on February 1st. This means its Test&Go program is available on the ThaiPass website from February 1st on.

What this means is you can fly into Bangkok or Samui, do a PCR test the first night, then free to travel and stay wherever after that. So if you land in Bangkok then it’s easy to fly from Bangkok to Samui, the next morning. If you fly into Samui direct then after night one you are free to travel on Samui.

Either way, it is easy to get to Samahita.

On your day 5 you do another PCR test and as Samahita is a Thailand certified SHA+ hotel it can be done during your stay with us.

The Test&Go program is now open for all countries. This process is for vaccinated travelers.

Follow the three steps of book your stay at Samahita, book your flights, then apply for your Thai Pass (Test&Go) online. In that order, as you need to show these bookings and flights when applying for the ThaiPass. Though this is an extra administrative step, more than some countries and more than before covid, it is, however, the official Thai procedure and emphasizes safety and better systems within the country when here.

While here in Thailand it is now similar to most other countries, whereby if you find you are positive just stay in where you are booked till a negative result appears. If asymptomatic no need to test. If symptomatic then test. If strong symptoms then medical care may be needed.

Samahita, in case you’ve forgotten, is completely open air, by the beach, with beautiful weather contrasting winter elsewhere. In other words, it’s ideal in a modern travel sense, yet has always emphasized these natural, healthy, and hygienic points, since opening in 2003, long before covid.

Back to the Tiger …. strong, robust, and moving away from the past two years of uncertainty. In fact, ride that tiger, like the image of Durga, but also trust in the unknown, without unnecessary worry and fear, because we still don’t know what’s coming but we feel the strength beneath us, within us.

Yes. Come join us at Samahita to find your inner Tiger this year, make it part of you moving ahead as the new chapter of life unfolds.

Dr. Paul Dallaghan’s expertise with breathwork, body and meditative practices comes from three sources: (1) three decades of daily dedicated practice and teaching these techniques; (2) uniquely acknowledged in the Yoga tradition by the title of “Master Yogi-Prānācharya (expert in breath)”, following an immersion in the original culture through one-on-one direct training in practice and study of ancient texts; (3) a PhD in doctoral scientific research at a leading US university (Emory) covering both the tradition and science of yoga and breath practices in terms of stress, health and aging. As a result, Paul occupies a unique space to impart genuine teaching and science on the breath, body, and meditative practices, seen as a Teacher-of-teachers and identified to carry on the tradition of Pranayama. His sincere and ongoing role is to teach, write and research, to help put out experienced and authentic information on these areas of how we live, breathe and be, to help people improve their mental and physical health, and live more fulfilling lives.
